Here at The Fat Robin we stock over 30 different models of binoculars & spotting scopes at all times! We are birders ourselves and use our binoculars virtually everyday. When choosing a binocular it is most important to actually pick them up and try them to see which works best for you. There is just no substitute for this and we are here to help you try them out, while also being able to ask any questions you may have. We pride ourselves on having a no pressure atmosphere here and want you to feel comfortable with the whole buying process. For 25 years now our store has been supplying birdwatchers of all skill levels with the tools they need to improve their birding adventures.

We carry products from top brands that provide great value at every price point, but also most importantly back their products with top notch customer service. Being a small business our focus is on being able to extend our customer focus through these quality companies. For higher end optics we carry Swarovski Optik, the industry standard in being the best of the best and manufactured in Austria. Their USA based headquarters are also nearby in Rhode Island which makes any repair requests or special orders very easy. They have a great warranty and take pride in knowing you’ve made quite the investment in something that will last you for many years to come. And in 2022 we added in Zeiss Optics for another high end option here in the store. We have been extremely happy with the lineup of binoculars from them that range from the top of the line alongside Swarovski, to more affordable entry options with their Terra series.

Our widest range of binocular and spotting scope options come from Vortex Optics, a longtime family run company based out of Wisconsin. They have placed customer service as their focal point and offer their Unconditional VIP Lifetime Warranty on all of their products. No matter what happens to any Vortex product, even if it’s your fault, they will repair the item or replace with an equal or better quality equivalent if yours is beyond repair. They quickly became a popular brand in the sporting optics marketplace and have really taken control of our most popular price points.

The newest addition to our lineup is Hawke Optics, a United Kingdom based company that expanded to the United States market back in 2007. They are similar to Vortex in that they are still a family run business and also offer a No Fault Lifetime Warranty. And we also carry a number of Nikon models, including their iconic Monarch series that has always rated highly in reviews since that late 1990’s.

The most important thing to us is that you get exactly what you want and leave our store extremely happy with your new purchase. We know that you have a number of options for where you can buy your new binoculars or spotting scope, so when you purchase from us you’re not only supporting a small business but also know that there is someone you can call with any questions or get help sending in any items for repair down the line. We’ve been doing this since 1995 and consistently get new customers that are sent to us from others that have purchased optics from us over the years.
